About the blog!
I always considered myself an outdoorsy person until I moved to Colorado from Florida via Texas. I longed to get here to meet women just like myself. I was all set to kayak, bike and hike. I set up several outings with coworkers only to learn that I was a couch potato in comparison to them. A bike date meant 30 miles minimum - uphill. I just wanted to ride 10 miles and then get a burger and beer. Roller blading was for the entire day. Nothing here is flat and kayaking was out when I realized how fast the water flowed here. We don't even want to go into my attempts at snowboarding. :) I just gave up trying to find others who were similar to me. However, recently I fell in love with biking again and discovered blogs on women who bike just like me. It was so encouraging, I decided to start a blog to be there for other women who like to be active, but aren't trying to win any records. Here's to the active meanderer!

You inspire me, but you know my incredible knowledge of "slack". But maybe your travels and trails will inspire me a little bit and maybe I will join you one of this days (as long as it is a short hike)!

ReplyDelete"Active meanderers" is a great term. You're not alone here in Colorado though... it just seems that way at times because there are so many ultra-fit, ultra-competitive, hard-core peeps around. It was highly intimidating to me too when we moved about 9 years ago, but I finally realized it doesn't matter. I'm going to go at my speed and do what I enjoy. Look forward to reading more about your "meandering" adventures. :o)
ReplyDeleteThanks G.E. You've been so inspirational to me!
